As I developed this application for two doctors in 2012 and and they are still satisfied with the latest version of this Electronic Health Record Application(v4).
During all these years I was able to migrate them from version to version without any loss and alteration of information, even though the first versions were created in CakePHP using Mysql and the most recent version uses Ruby on Rails and Postgresql with Hstore as part of the dynamic storing system in order to allow dynamic fields depending on the specialty of every account and doctor.
I’m an Engineer that you can trust fully, and 10 years of giving support to some of my customers can exhibit some of that, as I’m not the type of person that creates and kills projects in no time but in a very stable and consistent way in the long run.
I’m very good at the technical aspects of building Software products but not the best one when it comes to selling them, probably that is one of the reasons that Pacientes Web is still a small startup. Trying to handle everything at your Startup is a lot of work for just one person, and a more sophisticated and intelligent way is to find great partners, especially if you are interested in making a big impact and building a popular service that is used by the masses.
Now, let’s talk about the code and technical aspects of Pacientes Web
The last feature that I built and released was about communication improvements using transactional SMS messages(unlimited and free) and the WhatsApp integration(with a cost per message)
In México, in comparison with other countries, it’s always been expensive to send transactional SMS notifications and that hasn’t changed as of 2022. Taking into consideration the current state of that, in 2020, I decided to find a way to offer this functionality with no additional cost for clinics in México.
I decided to work on the analysis and the actual implementation, during my longest vacations that year(2020), and long story short I was able to create a service called smsparatodos.com

And one of the latest features I released on Pacientes Web was the integration of smsparatodos.com in order to send SMS messages for appointment confirmation and reminders, sending birthday wishes among others and this is a functionality that doctors are still using without any additional cost on their yearly subscription despite the number of notifications they need to send every week.
