I love creating and building stuff... And I love building software too.​

I personally admire and respect people and groups of people, that were able to make a positive impact in the world by creating and offering something new and I have much more respect if they were able to do so even if they had little to no resources at the beginning.

In the last 10 years, I became very passionate about entrepreneurship and decided to become a serious entrepreneur, and during all this time, during nights, weekends, and sometimes vacations, I was able to build from scratch a few products and services, some of them failed and some of them succeed and in this section, I’m going to share the ones that are still relevant as of 2022.​​

I have a long story with www.pacientesweb.com, as I 
developed this application for two doctors in 2012 and and they are still satisfied with the latest version of this Electronic Health Record Application(v4).

During all these years I was able to migrate them from version to version without any loss and alteration of information, even though the first versions were created in CakePHP using Mysql and the most recent version uses Ruby on Rails and Postgresql with Hstore as part of the dynamic storing system in order to allow dynamic fields depending on the specialty of every account and doctor…

I was invited to INVESMARK CONSULTORIA Y SERVICIOS SAS DE CV a company founded in México City and decided to accept the challenge of creating a robust technology platform to handle territorial and on-site research whether to be performed in big cities or in small towns that had difficult access and no internet connection at all so having a mix of real-time surveys progress and local storage was mandatory to ensure data consistency.

I got very excited about this pet project opportunity because the former team had Data analysis and market research experts, and with the help of the technology we were planning to make a huge impact on the way that on-site market research is done in México, and completely deprecate the usage of physical paper and ensure data accuracy among other benefits…

It was during some customization work I was doing on another pet project called vidaprimalmexico.com which is a store hosted on Shopify.com and my Wife is the owner and manager. What’s the next for Heriberto starting with the second half of 2022?

After all these years of entrepreneurship, and trying to build my own unicorn in Latin America while keeping a full-time job at Magmalabs.io, I learned a lot about entrepreneurial stuff, and one of the main lessons I want to share here is that building a great product, it involves way more than just having great technical talents, but to be able to sell it, and of course following one of my favorite phrases these days, “Get into the business before you get an idea for that business” and that finding a distribution channel for marketing and selling purposes in many cases would make a huge difference in how successful your company and product would be.

And in the second half of 2022, I decided to stop working on personal projects, and focus on leveling up my skills and be able to positively contribute to an existing company/business, this is very challenging and ambitious but now I’m looking forward to a new company to fall in love with their product(s) and be part of their success and make a positive impact in the world with real customers.

I’ll be looking for new challenges in the second half of 2022 and I hope I can be one of the engineers that make a difference in your company and with your products.
